Renewable Energy and Climate Solutions
July 17th 2024
The Renewable Energy and Climate Solutions session at Asia Society' Young Leaders Institute provided an in-depth exploration of critical issues related to energy and climate. As part of a week-long program designed to enhance global competence and leadership among high school students, this session addressed one of today's most urgent challenges: the transition to renewable energy and sustainable climate practices.
Participants engaged in discussions about the crucial role of energy in human development and economic growth, analyzed global energy consumption trends, and examined the shift away from fossil fuels. The session also highlighted regional initiatives, with a particular focus on efforts in Asia and Houston, and evaluated the roles of government policies, international organizations, activists, and businesses in driving change. Emphasizing environmental stewardship and justice, the session explored how equitable climate policies can impact both the U.S. and the world, encouraging students to consider innovative solutions and collaborative approaches for a sustainable future.

On July 17th, I partnered with Asia Society Texas Center as a guest speaker for one of their summer programs. It was a great partnership for me as well as the experience I gained from interacting with students similar to my age. It took a while to sort through my schedule and also coordinate a suitable time, but everything worked out well thanks to the patience and encouragement from the Asia Society staff. I had a lovely experience talking about my road to public speaking and the founding of my nonprofit. It was a pleasure to answer questions and interact with the audience.
